Sri Trang Group donates 7.6 million gloves to fight Covid-19
Sri Trang Group’s Sri Trang Agro-Industry PCL (STA), the World’s Leading Fully Integrated Green Rubber Company, and Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) PLC (STGT), the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of natural and nitrile rubber gloves, continued into the second year of the “Sharing Love to Communities” project in donating over 7.6 million gloves to various organisations between 2020 and 2021, thereby helping to raise Thailand’s hygiene capacity and safety and contain the new wave of the Covid virus.
“Since the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic in late 2019, STA and its subsidiaries have been keen to people in all the provinces maintain good hygiene,” said Mr. Veerasith Sinchareonkul, Managing Director, STA, adding that this is in line with the company's policy to promote social activities that help raise the quality of life for Thai people in a sustainable way.
2021 marks the second consecutive year of the project. Donations of medical examination gloves and other necessities such as survival kits, food, water, and PPE supplies, are delivered through provincial governors, the Ministry of Public Health, and agencies such as hospitals, field hospitals, health stations, foundations, Covid-19 vaccination stations, aid centres, temples, and correctional institutions. Sri Trang Group companies also sprays disinfectant in areas near its factories in a move also calculated to ease the virus’s spread.
“The Sharing Love to Communities” project has donated over 7.5 million medical examination gloves in total in 2020-2021,” commented Ms. Jarinya Jirojkul, Chief Executive Officer, STGT. “The project will cover every province so Thai people have comprehensive access to the gloves. We hope and trust that the gloves will prevent further spread of Covid-19, strengthen hygiene, reduce infection risk and, ultimately, help Thailand overcome the spread of the latest variant as quickly as possible, in accordance with the company’s vision To Deliver ˹ Touch Of Life™˼ on a Global Scale.”
