STA Drives Thai Rubber Industry Towards Sustainability Sharing Knowledge on Traceable Natural Rubber (GPS), EUDR, and Sri Trang Ecosystem in Response to New EU Regulations

Ms. Prapassorn Punyaphirom (second from right), Strategic Branding and Digital Product Marketing Manager, and Mr. Phiraphong Hsieh (far right), Marketing Section Head of Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA), participated in the 9th Agriculture Fair in Phang Nga Province. They served as decide for the Cup Lump Rubber Contest and delivered lectures on “Traceable Natural Rubber (GPS), EUDR Regulations, and Sri Trang Ecosystem” continuously sharing knowledge to drive the Thai rubber industry towards sustainability. This preparation aims to comply with the new EUDR regulations, which will require traceability of the origins of natural rubber exports to EU countries, effective by the end of this year.

The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Jetsada Jitlang (second from left), Director of the Rubber Authority of Thailand, Phang Nga Province; Ms. Waraporn Pichairat (third from left), Head of Operations at the Central Rubber Market Office, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province; Mr. Wirat Jarungkan (fourth from left), Chairman of the Rubber Fund Cooperative in Ton District; and Mr. Samran Sombat (third from right), Member of the Agricultural Council of Phang Nga Province.

STA also hosted a booth at the event from May 25 to June 3, 2024, to introduce the “Sri Trang Friends” application, which connects rubber farmers, traders, and Sri Trang Group's rubber purchasing centers on a digital platform. This app supports traceability of rubber production origins in compliance with EUDR regulations, developed in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
