BackOct 10, 2024

Recently, Sri Trang Group, through Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA) and Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited (STGT), both members of the Thailand Carbon Neutral Network (TCNN), announced their success in reducing greenhouse gas emissions to help mitigate global warming. Led by Ms. Thanravee Thanonworaphong (center), Corporate Communication and Reporting Manager, who represented the management teams of STA and STGT, the companies received the 'Outstanding Greenhouse Gas Management Leader Award 2024' or Climate Action Leading Organization (CALO). The award was presented by Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, who presided over the ceremony.

This prestigious national recognition awarded to both companies is a source of pride for the Sri Trang Group and reflects the collective efforts and commitment to driving and taking responsibility for greenhouse gas reduction, aimed at minimizing the impacts of global warming. It highlights the group's leadership in managing and addressing the challenges of corporate greenhouse gas emissions.

Sri Trang Group has committed to being an active participant in driving and supporting the achievement of Carbon Neutrality and Net Zero Emissions at the corporate level by 2050. This is in line with Thailand's policies and the global community’s goals under the Paris Agreement. Through its involvement in the Thailand Carbon Neutral Network, Sri Trang Group is dedicated to the 'STA Road to Net Zero' policy, focusing on three strategic pillars: Increase, Shift, and Capture. Key initiatives include enhancing energy efficiency, increasing the use of renewable energy—currently, 50% of STA’s energy consumption comes from biomass fuels for heat generation and solar power projects—converting 107 diesel and LPG forklifts to electric models, and carbon capture and emission reduction projects in Sri Trang’s rubber plantations.

The company continuously monitors and evaluates the performance of these initiatives, producing annual greenhouse gas reduction reports to ensure progress toward becoming a 'Carbon Neutral Company' and achieving Net Zero Emissions. This aligns with its vision of being 'The Green Rubber Company,' a fully integrated, sustainable natural rubber business committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to combat global warming, restore balance to the planet, and elevate Thailand's rubber industry to a global level.
