STA Showcases Sustainable Business Excellence with Prestigious Recognition in the Sustainability Excellence Category - Highly Commended Sustainability Awards

Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA), the world’s largest fully integrated producer and distributor of natural rubber, has announced a significant milestone in sustainable business operations. Representing the company, Ms. Thanravee Thanonworaphong (right), Corporate Sustainability Communication and Reporting Manager, proudly accepted the prestigious SET Awards 2024 in the Sustainability Excellence category. STA was honored with the Highly Commended Sustainability Award for listed companies with a market capitalization between 10,000 million and 30,000 million baht. The award was presented by Professor Emeritus Prof. Kitipong Urapeepatanapong (left), Chairman of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, during the SET Awards 2024 ceremony.

Mr. Veerasith Sinchareonkul, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited, stated that Sri Trang Group is dedicated to sustainable growth. Over the past 37 years, the company has adhered to a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and effective supply chain management. This dedication is guided by the "4 Green" strategies, which encompasses Green Procurement, Green Processes, Green Products, and Green Company initiatives. These efforts have consistently earned Sri Trang Group numerous sustainability accolades, reflecting its unwavering focus on sustainable business practices.

This year marks another milestone for Sri Trang Agro-Industry PCL (STA) as it was honored with the Highly Commended Sustainability Awards in the Sustainability Excellence category by the Stock Exchange of Thailand. This prestigious recognition highlights the company’s progress, commitment, and collective efforts in advancing its sustainable development agenda in alignment with international standards and frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

STA has set ambitious sustainability goals that align with business operations, including:

  1. Decarbonization: Targeting carbon neutrality by 2030 and achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
  2. Labor & Human Rights: Ensuring comprehensive human rights assessments and fair treatment of workers across all operations.
  3. Supply Chain Management: Building a resilient network for raw material sourcing both domestically and internationally to ensure supply chain stability. STA has established a sustainable natural rubber procurement policy in alignment with the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) Policy Framework, recognized as a global standard for responsible rubber trading. The company is also advancing its efforts in GPS Rubber to comply with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), enabling full traceability of raw material sources.

Additionally, STA is committed to creating a robust “Sri Trang Ecosystem,” fostering a stable and interconnected network of stakeholders across the entire supply chain. This comprehensive approach reflects STA’s dedication to sustainable growth and its vision to lead the natural rubber industry toward a more sustainable future.
